Mat talks to candle maker and bee lover, Cate Burton about bees wax candles, Earth Hour and sleep health to shed some light on the environmental cost of artificial lighting. Cate explains how small actions taken by a large group of people can make a big difference.

Queen B was borne of owner, Cate Burton,’s experience with panic attacks. When her doctor recommended pursuing a calming hobby, she took up woodworking, ceramics, oil painting and beeswax candle-making. Mesmerised by the beeswax and the pure, golden light, it was this hobby she has pursued for the past 22 years via Queen B. Today, the Queen B team (of 3!) hand make over 150,000 pure Australian beeswax candles and beeswax wraps annually, while Cate is the national judge for beeswax and beeswax candles at the National Honey Show.
